20th Anniversary of Coldplay's greatest album

Kudos for "A Rush Of Blood To The Head"!!!

Here’s the 20th Anniversary of A Rush Of Blood to the Head, one of my favorite albums of all time. My dad and I used to sing in the car when we were driving back home and those were our favorite moments of us. The first track I heard from Coldplay was Mylo Xyloto, and I was seven years old. I didn’t even know who Queen or Radiohead was back when I was around that age, I wasn’t into rock music either. Later then, when I turned thirteen, I started searching for my favorite bands’ very first albums to listen to. I am so grateful that my father and my mother introduced Coldplay to me in those old days.

It’s late at midnight, such a good time for writing all about AROBTTH’s magnificent strike on the industry. I always counted the first album listening on a coast with some headphones in a moody-peaceful kind of way but this album, to me, is what made Coldplay one of the most successful British bands of all time, it was the climax of their career. I am so proud of the album, such a masterpiece. This album has a way of listening to loud rock music in a car on your way to home after a long tiring shift and screaming through your lungs as the songs come out while waving your hands smoothly out of the window, nothing to care about, feeling infinite endlessly.

First Track- Politik

This song has kind of a rebellious mood of wanting proof over someone. That one gives me confidence and trust at the same time and makes me wanna jump off an airplane. I love the speed of drumsticks beating the drum so fast, just a good starting track to get into the mood of the album. Meaning the mood of the album is getting into a flowing way of it. Every track has its way of course. Let’s move to a softer song from the rebellious sister of the album.

Second- In my Place

I love this song, just want to own it. Its melody is one of a kind, a kind that you wouldn’t want to keep to yourself, wanting the whole world to listen to it. This song makes me feel comfortable and wants to get out of my boundaries as well.

Fourth Track- The Scientist

A Scientist puts all his effort, love, and time into his work throughout his life and neglects his lover, his wife. This song and the video on Youtube just tear my heart apart. One of my favorite clips of all time(Yellow, The Scientist, Fix You, and Talk). Chris Martin walks backward and, just like the song tells, he wants to go back to the start, to live everything again. Whenever I feel weak, disappointed, and full of regrets and I lay down on the bare floor of my room and stare at the ceiling while listening to this fascinating song. I didn’t experience a breakup but no one said other things in life would make me feel this bad as a breakup would feel. This song is special to me and I know it is special for many other people too(I love to know that I share this experience with many human beings in the world, so I don’t feel much alone after all).

Fifth Track- Clocks

In my opinion, one of the best-produced songs on the album. To me, the song is about someone who is in deeply love but has a painful relationship and can’t stop the time. Besides that, it has a strong voice of telling that he only wants to be “home”, to be kept safe. This song is written by all the band members. Another point is that to me the song tells how existential issues can lead you to confusion when you understand that time is ticking and fears are growing. After talking about a heartbroken human’s love, let’s move to a young, not yet broken, love song.

Seventh Track- Green Eyes<33

Green Eyes is one of the most naive love songs I have ever listened to. I love it. When the guitar sound starts to speed and it turns out to be a dancing song in a downtown cafe, I love it. The person in the song loves the other one so much, that anybody who denies her must be insane or out of their mind because she is perfect and so lovable, he can’t think of anyone to be with, except her. He wants to talk and knows she would understand. And she helps him to be better.

Last minute, I checked on Gwyneth Paltrow’s eyes if they are green or not. They married one year after the album hit the media.

Clocks are ticking and I don’t know where are we going.

Eighth Track- Warning Sign

Warning Sign has a special place in my heart, no argument. Whenever I listened to it, I feel safe. This song is about waiting for someone who you can easily confide in, for the person’s signals if they are ready or not. And I wait for someone too, to haunt me and approach me for so long, so I relate to this song. Missing someone you didn’t even meet hurts a lot.

Ninth Track- A Whisper

This song drives me crazy just like when I hear Politik. My dad loves this song so much, so I couldn’t help but put it on my list. To me, a side theme of this album is not having enough time, like Clocks. It also tells about following a day trying to find the answer but realizing there is no answer at all. Day turns into the night but nothing happens.

Tenth Track- A Rush Of Blood To The Head

The title is very cool, so the song. Its melody just makes me feel like I’m playing in a western movie or a revenge scene of an action movie or so, an actress in Oceans 7.

Wrap up

I wrote my comments about my favorite songs on the album. Daylight, Amsterdam, and God Put a Smile Upon Your Face are great ones too, if those are your favorites, don’t get mad at me or hurl me AROBTTH album covers to my face. Daylight is giving me hope always and Amsterdam’s beat just boosts my mood always, starting slow and then BAM(last songs always do that)! God Put a Smile Upon Your Face’s meaning is complicated, I can’t resolve it even now (Chris Martin always believe in a Higher Power’s existence-maybe that’s the payoff of Higher Power or Everyday Life)but I still love the song’s production, gives me chill.

I saw the latest Instagram post of Coldplay and I decided to write a review of the album. They said that this album nearly broke them but kept them together, at last, I couldn’t think of any life they didn’t exist if they were just an underground band has only one popular song and then falls apart. Would I be me if they didn’t exist? The obvious answer is no. Would millions of people be the same? No. They are changing many people’s lives with their profound and one-of-a-kind lyrics. AROBTTH is full of love and personal songs that make me rethink of my life from a new perspective.

P. S. I looked at the price of hoodies and t-shirts you put on the market to celebrate the Anniversary. Those were too expensive, I would like to have one but I can’t, so my mum suggested pressing the album cover on one of my hoodies, then it will just look like the market one. Therefore, no problem. I am saving money for college and your concert. One day, I will go to London and see you all(I will wander around London too). Don’t fall apart or give up on concerts before I come to see you just once. I am sure you will not come to Turkey but it’s okay, I will go to London anyway in my lifetime.
